
Some students who were not satisfied with the exam results in Karnataka have committed suicide. All these girls were of class 12, they took this step after the 12th board results were declared. After the announcement of the result of the Second Pre-University (II PUC) 2nd PUC Result 2025 or Class 12th Board Exam-1, the Karnataka government had repeatedly urged the students not to take such a step.
Despite this, five girl students across the state have committed suicide due to their upset performance in the exams. These incidents have been reported from Mysuru, Ballari, Davanagere, Haveri districts and Bengaluru city in the last 24 hours.

According to information, Iswarya, a student of Government PU College in Vontikoppal area of Mysuru, ended her life. Vijayalakshmi Siriguppa, a Class 12 student of Agasanuru in Sirguppa taluk of Ballari district, also allegedly committed suicide due to her exam results. Krupa, a II PUC science student from Davanagere, took the step after learning that she had failed in her first attempt.
I was worried even before the result came
Kavya Basappa Lamani from the limits of Hansabhavi police station in Haveri district also took her life after the declaration of results as she could not clear the exam. Another case has been reported from the limits of Vidyaranyapura police station in Bengaluru.
Big announcement by Education Minister
A student took her own life hours before the board exam results were announced on Tuesday. Police said she took the step fearing her results. The incident took place at her apartment in Saptagiri Layout. More details are awaited as investigations into the incident are ongoing. Announcing the results, Education Minister Madhu Bangarappa said that to reassure students who could not clear, this is the result of the first exam.
'There are still two more chances left...'
The Education Minister further said- Two more rounds of examinations will be conducted for the students who have not passed. Our department has decided to conduct three examinations for the students. We are not declaring any student as failed. 'We are only declaring the results of the passed candidates. Since the examination process is still going on, students have the opportunity to appear for the second and third attempt.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had also appealed, 'Students who have not cleared the exam should not get disappointed or worried and please do not take any hasty decisions. Life is big and there will definitely be another chance to face the exam and pass with better marks. Do not let disappointment take over.'
