Firozabad News: The tin shed of the Resource Recovery Center, built in Gadhi Sidhari of Narkhi block of Firozabad, collapsed due to strong winds on Saturday. Corruption is being alleged in the construction of the Resource Recovery Center. It is alleged that the material used to build the Resource Recovery Center is of inferior quality and substandard. Due to which the tin shed installed on top of the Resource Recovery Center collapsed due to strong winds.
According to Rajul Upadhyay, village panchayat secretary of Garhi Sidhari, a budget of Rs 5 lakh was allocated for the RRC centre, in which e-rickshaws and other materials were purchased. The Resource Recovery Centre was constructed for Rs 3 lakh. This construction was completed in the year 2024. Taking cognizance of the construction of poor quality RRC centres, Firozabad Chief Development Officer Shatruhan Vaishya has ordered District Panchayati Raj Officer Jagdish Ram Gautam to investigate the matter.
Orders to check the quality of RRC Center
According to District Panchayat Raj Officer Jagdish Ram Gautam, the quality of the Resource Recovery Center is being checked and it will also be re-verified. Although the officials are definitely talking of investigation in this matter, but the intention and concept of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan conceived by the Central Government in rural areas seems to be falling prey to commission-khor. For disposal of garbage in rural areas, Resource Recovery Centers have been established by the Central Government for disposal of solid and liquid waste, for building RRC Centers, budget was allocated to the Gram Panchayat as per the population.
