California forest fire The fire in the forests of northern California is increasing continuously. Due to the increasing forest fire, the administration is trying to extinguish it by dropping water from helicopters. However, the fire is not getting extinguished.

The flames of the growing forest fire are now reaching people's homes. Firefighters are standing on the roads to save people living nearby. At the same time, 26 thousand people were forced to evacuate due to the fire.

The fire started from Auroville city

The Thompson fire started near the town of Oroville in Butte County, about 70 miles (110 kilometers) north of Sacramento. It sent up a huge plume of smoke that could be seen from space as it covered more than 5.5 square miles (14 square kilometers).

However, the fire was contained on the southern flank and firefighters working on steep slopes were trying to establish containment lines on the northern flank.

Meanwhile, another fire broke out about 5 miles (8 kilometers) south of Oroville on Wednesday afternoon, forcing new evacuations near the town of Palermo. That blaze, called the Grubbs Fire, also was not contained.

Emergency declared in Auroville 

A state of emergency was declared in Oroville and evacuation centers were set up. Evacuation zones were created Wednesday in the foothills and rural areas beyond the city, where about 20,000 people live. In light of July 4, officials also warned that fireworks are banned in many places, including much of Butte County.
