Chhattisgarh News: Opposition party Congress in Chhattisgarh on Sunday (2 February) claimed that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) failed to live up to the expectations of the people last year. However, the ruling party rejected this allegation.
State Congress president Deepak Baij issued an accusation letter at a press conference here and claimed that all sections of the society are disappointed with the BJP government led by Vishnu Dev Sai.
'Corruption and bad governance prevail in the state'
The BJP came to power in Chhattisgarh in December 2023 by defeating the Congress in the assembly elections held there. Baij alleged that corruption and bad governance prevail in the state.
People are angry with the state government
He claimed that the Other Backward Classes (OBC) people are angry with the state government due to the 'faulty' reservation policy implemented in local bodies. Baij alleged that law and order has collapsed in Chhattisgarh.
He said that social security pension, old age pension and widow pension have been stopped and the beneficiaries are forced to wander here and there.
Finance Minister rejects Congress' allegations
Chhattisgarh Finance Minister OP Choudhary rejected the Congress' allegations. He told reporters that if the Congress prepares a chargesheet on its last five years of rule in the state between 2018 and 2023, it would be bigger than a novel. Choudhary said, "They (Congress) are criticizing our one-year-old government. Well, it is their job to make allegations."
