Chhath Puja fast is considered very special in Hinduism. During this, devotees worship Chhathi Maiya and Lord Sun and follow a tough fast. According to religious beliefs, Chhath Puja lasts for 4 days. It is celebrated twice a year in Chaitra and Kartik months. According to the Panchang, this great festival (Chhath Puja 2024), which comes in the month of Kartik this year, started on November 5. At the same time, it will end on November 8 i.e. tomorrow with offering Arghya to the rising sun. It is believed that during this time, offering Arghya to Lord Sun (Chhath Puja 2024 Sunrise Time) and following all the worship rules should be done, only then the full fruit of the fast is obtained.
Sunrise Time
Chhath fast will be concluded by offering Arghya (Arghya Timings) to the rising sun on 8 November . On this day (Auspicious Time Chhath Puja) sunrise will be at 06:32 in the morning. Whereas, sunset will be at 05:30 in the evening. It is said that special care should be taken of purity during Surya Arghya. Only then the fruits of worship are achieved.
The correct rule of offering Arghya to the Sun on Chhath Puja (Chhath Puja Rituals)
- Wake up in the morning and take a bath and meditate.
- The fasting person should reach the ghat with his family before sunrise.
- Get into the water and offer arghya to the rising sun.
- Offer arghya as per the time.
- Offer water and milk to the Sun God.
- Then bow to Lord Sun and chant his Vedic mantras.
- Recite Surya Chalisa.
- Then perform the aarti of Sun God with incense, lamp and camphor.
- Offer fruits, sweets, home-made Prasad etc. to Lord Surya.
- Apologize for mistakes made during puja.
- While offering water, keep the pot below your head.
- Wear red clothes and offer water to Sun God.
- End the fast by offering Arghya to the Sun and distribute Prasad among all the people.
