The decision to issue bonus shares in the board meeting of Godfrey Phillips has been postponed for now. The company's board meeting was held today to consider bonus shares. It has been said that Godfrey Phillips needs clarification from RBI on issuing bonus to non-resident shareholders. Non-resident shareholders include people coming under FDI and FPI. Now the decision to issue bonus shares will be reconsidered after getting the necessary approval from RBI. Godfrey Phillips India said that a board meeting will be called later to finalize and implement the bonus share issuance.

In the exchange filing, the company said, "The Board of the Company in its meeting held today on 20th September 2024 considered the matter of issuing bonus shares. After detailed discussions, it was decided that the Company needs to obtain appropriate clarification/approval from the Reserve Bank of India, as the Company is engaged in the manufacturing of cigarettes and other tobacco products, in which FDI is currently prohibited. " Share performance The stock of the company closed at Rs 7,630 on Friday, down 1.90 per cent. The 52-week high of the stock is Rs 8,480 and in the last one year, the stock of the company has seen a rise of 273.01 per cent.
