Mumbai: The Borivali Magistrate Court on Monday directed the Mumbai Police to investigate against actress Raveena Tandon on the complaint of social worker Mohsin Sheikh. The court has directed the police to submit the report by January 3, 2025. The next date of hearing of the case will be on March 1, 2025.

Pressure created to remove the video

In his complaint, Mohsin Sheikh has sought action against the actress under Section 500 (defamation) and Section 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code. Mohsin Sheikh had posted the video of Raveena Tandon's alleged road rage incident on his Twitter handle. In an interview with Mid-Day, Sheikh revealed that after sharing the video, various influential people associated with Raveena, including politicians, pressured him to remove the video.

Sheikh alleged that false allegations of extortion were made against him. His reputation in the society has been tarnished. In June this year, Raveena's driver was reversing the car inside a society in Bandra, when four members of the same family walking on the road stopped him and told the driver that he should check whether there are people behind before reversing. Police said in June that when Raveena tried to save her driver, the mob attacked her.
