Passenger shed built Five feet Below From Road: Bihar is always in the news for its unique feats. A few days ago you must have seen a bridge built in the middle of a field, which was discussed all over the country. Now there is a discussion about a passenger shed in Rohtas, Bihar, which is not built on the roadside but in a pit five feet below the road. This shed has been built near Fakila village in Kargahar area of Rohtas district.
Construction done near the canal built in the fields
District Councilor Poonam Devi of Karghar Dakshini has constructed this passenger shed near Fakli turn, but this shed has not been built on the roadside but in the middle of the path going from the canal to the fields. This passenger shed is located in a pit about five feet below the road, due to which passengers cannot reach here easily. Canal water keeps flowing around this shed and it has not been constructed right on the roadside but near the canal built towards the fields.
It has been built at a cost of about Rs 5 lakh, but questions are being raised about its use. It can be seen in the pictures that the canal water passes in front of it and it is located much below the road. In such a situation, it is beyond understanding how people will use this passenger shed. Usually passenger sheds are constructed on the roadside so that passengers can easily get a place to rest, but here all the parameters have been ignored in this construction.
Local resident Ankit Kumar raised questions on this and called it misuse of government money. He said, "What is the use of building such a passenger shed which is situated in the middle of the canal and people are not able to use it. How will people go in it? This is a waste of government money."
What did District Councilor Poonam Devi say?
In this case, District Councilor Poonam Kumari clarified that the passenger shed was built on the banks of the canal because there was no government land nearby. She said that there was a plan to build a drain in the middle to reach the passenger shed so that passengers could have convenience in commuting, but due to some reason this work is pending.
This scheme was approved in 2022 and it should have been completed in 2023. Recently it has been painted and prepared, but a culvert needs to be constructed to reach the passenger shed. The question arises whether the engineering department will take any action against this negligence.
