A 22 km long metro corridor will be built with this project worth Rs. 6000 crore. Bareilly Development Authority is continuously trying to run metro in Bareilly. RITES has completed the survey.
BDA Vice President Manikandan A said that the people of Bareilly will soon get the facility of metro. Metro corridor will be built to relieve the people of Bareilly from traffic jam and to make the movement smooth. He said that its survey has also been completed. He said that Rail India Technical and Economic Service (RITES) has submitted its report to Bareilly Vikas Prakar.
RITES has agreed to operate the metro
. RITES has also agreed to operate the metro in the study report. It has been informed that metro stations will be built at major intersections. After considering technical, economic, transport, social and other aspects in its report, RITES has also conducted soil tests of the light metro and metro project routes. In the survey report, it has agreed to build a 22 kilometer corridor on the basis of the population of 2031.
BDA Vice President Manikandan A said that the RITES report will be presented before the committee headed by the Commissioner. After which the DPR will be prepared. Metro will run from Railway Junction, Chowki Chauraha, Satellite Bus Stand, Ruhilkhand University, Fun City, Barrier to Tiraha, in the second route, Chowki Chauraha, Patel Chowk, Qutubkhana Chauraha, Kohadapir, Adinath Tiraha to Barrier to Tiraha. The estimated cost of this project has been fixed at around Rs 6000 crore.
