Azamgarh News: It took 28 years to re-install the ashtadhatu idols of Lord Ram, Laxman and Hanuman ji stolen from Maharshi Dattatreya Ashram in Nizamabad tehsil area of ​​Azamgarh district. People will be able to see Lord Ram, Laxman and Hanuman ji again after 28 years. The ashtadhatu idols of Lord Ram, Laxman and Hanuman were stolen from Maharshi Dattatreya Ashram in 1996. The police recovered the idols but these idols remained locked in the police station's storehouse till now. The court has issued an order to take out these idols. Now the idols of Lord Shri Ram, Laxman and Hanuman ji will be installed again with due rituals.

Nizamabad town is located at a distance of 15 km from the district headquarters. Maharshi Dattatreya Ashram is a big temple of Hindu faith situated at the confluence of Tamsa and Kunwar river in Gauspur Gram Sabha on Centerwa road adjacent to Nizamabad town. Every year thousands of people take a dip at the confluence of Tamsa and Kunwar river to worship Lord Dattatreya Ashram and also perform havan. According to the belief, whatever wish is asked after performing havan puja and darshan is fulfilled.

Demand to open a police post near the temple
In this regard, Ravidas ji Maharaj, Mahant and Pujari Dattatreya Ashram said that, the return of the Lord will be done with full rituals and the idol will be installed. Along with the security arrangements, saints and high officials will also come in this. The idol of Lord Ram, Laxman, Janaki, Hanuman will be re-installed at Dattatreya Ashram amidst tight security arrangements. He said that his effort is to make a police post near the ashram before the installation of the idol so that there is no problem regarding security in future.

Advocate Shravan Kumar Rai, representing Ravidas Ji Maharaj, the priest of Dattatreya Ashram, said that in 1996, the idols of Ram, Laxman and Hanuman Ji were stolen from the temple, which were recovered by the then investigator. Since then, the idols were in the storehouse. The priest of the temple had filed an application in the court for the release of the idol. In which the Hon'ble Court has ordered the release of the idol on 24 September. The case will continue.

In this regard, SP Rural Chirag Jain has said that some idols were looted from Dattatreya Ashram of Thana Nizamabad area in 1996, in which a case was registered. The police had recovered the idols. On September 24, the court of Azamgarh ordered the release of the idols.
