New Delhi. Purnima has great religious and spiritual significance among Hindus. This festival is considered to be one of the most auspicious days, when the moon is in its full form. Purnima falls every month and this time it is being celebrated today i.e. on July 21, 2024. People have their own beliefs and customs regarding this auspicious day .

It is said that on this auspicious occasion, one must worship Lord Vishnu, take a bath in the Ganges and offer water to the Moon God. So, let us know some important things related to this auspicious occasion , which are given here.

  • Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga - from 05:36 in the morning to 12:14 in the midnight of the next day
  • Amrit Kaal - from 6:15 PM to 7:45 PM
  • Vijay Muhurat - from 02:44 pm to 03:39 pm
  • Twilight time - from 07:17 pm to 07:38 pm

Moonrise time

Moonrise will be on July 21, 2024 at 6:47 pm. After this, you can offer water to the moon.

Worship rules

Before starting the Puja rituals, wake up early in the morning and take a bath. Take an altar and place the idol of Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi along with Shri Yantra on it. Light a lamp of desi ghee and offer flowers and garlands. Offer sweets, Panchamrit and Tulsi leaves. Recite Satyanarayana Katha and chant Vishnu Mantra. Conclude the Puja with Aarti. Ganga bath and charity should be done on this day. Holy texts like Bhagavad Gita and Ramayana should be read on this date. Feeding fodder to a cow is considered extremely auspicious on this day. It is very important to avoid tamasic things on this day.
