Barabanki. When the wife protested against her husband's desire to marry a second time without her consent and complained to the police, the accused started harassing her. The husband, along with other people in the house, tried to kill her and gave her triple Talaaq. When her complaint was not heard at Lucknow's Wazirganj police station, the woman came to her parental home and complained to the SP, on which a case has been registered against her husband and in-laws at Kotwali Nagar.

Shahina Bano, daughter of Mohammad Shakeel, resident of Nala Pirbatavan Mohalla of Kotwali Nagar, was married to Abu Bakar Hussain alias Bhayyu, resident of Mashkganj Tajikhana of Wazirganj police station of Lucknow. They also have two children. Shahina says that her husband, father-in-law Abrar Hussain alias Nawabu, mother-in-law Afsar Jahan, sister-in-law Zarina and brother-in-law Hanif alias Mantu harass her, for which she lodged a complaint on 1076.

It is alleged that the husband wants to marry another girl. When she opposed, he threatened to kill her and beat her up. On 19th May, she went to the Wazirganj police station to plead for her life, but no hearing took place. On the 21st, she again complained to the Wazirganj police station, which annoyed her in-laws and when she returned from the police station, her husband, along with his in-laws, beat her up mercilessly and gave her triple talaq.

They tried to kill her by stuffing a cloth in her mouth and putting their foot on her neck, due to which she fell unconscious. After regaining consciousness she somehow reached her parent's house with her two children and narrated the entire incident. The victim's father and brother work in Mumbai. On May 29, the victim gave an application to the Superintendent of Police narrating her ordeal and expressed the fear of something untoward happening to her. After investigating the matter, a case has been registered in Kotwali Nagar.
