Tel Aviv: In response to the attack by Lebanese terrorists in Israel, the Israeli army on Wednesday launched attacks on Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon. The Israeli army said that the retaliatory attacks were carried out after dozens of rockets were fired from Lebanese territory.

Sharing a post on Twitter, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said that about 65 rockets were fired from Lebanon into northern Israel. Earlier on August 25, the IDF said that the Iran-backed group Hezbollah had fired more than 200 rockets and drones at Israel's northern border in retaliation for the killing of its senior commander Fuad Shukr in the Lebanese capital Beirut. This prompted retaliation from Israel, which bombed entire south Lebanon.

Hezbollah rocket launchers shot down

Israel said it shot down nearly 1,000 Hezbollah rocket launchers in a mass sortie of 100 Israeli fighter jets early Sunday to thwart the planned attack, the Times of Israel reported.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said this

Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Wednesday that Israel will not withdraw its troops from the border area between southern Gaza and Egypt until there is a guarantee that it cannot be used as a lifeline for the Islamic movement Hamas.
