China Beautiful Governor: A female officer known as 'Beautiful Governor' in China has been sentenced to 13 years in prison. This female officer has been found guilty of having sexual relations with 58 juniors of her staff, being involved in corruption and taking huge bribes. The female officer has also been fined more than one crore rupees.

Was arrested in April 2023

According to the report of Chinese news agency South China Morning Post, the name of the female officer found guilty is Zhong Yang and her age is 52 years. The woman has worked as a governor and deputy secretary with the Communist Party of China in Qiannan, Guizhou. Zhong Yang was associated with the party since the age of 22. Zhong was arrested in April 2023, after which the party expelled her from the post. 

Build relationships with 58 juniors

Zhong was also accused of having sexual relations with 58 male juniors. The investigation found that some of them had sexual relations with Zhong for benefits while others did so out of fear of Zhong. A news report said that Zhong used to spend time with these men on the pretext of working overtime and going on business tours.

In January 2024, Guizhou Radio and Television made a documentary on the case. The documentary revealed many controversies related to Zhong Yang. Reports revealed that Zhong misused his position and took bribes. He got contracts for only a few selected companies under the pretext of government investment, and also approved the development of a high-tech industrial estate for a close businessman.

Another business owner in the documentary claimed that Zhong did not pay attention to companies with which she did not have a personal relationship. According to the report, Zhong has taken 60 million yuan (about Rs 70 crore) in bribes.
