But now it is lost in bomb blasts and dust. This building was vacant for the last four years. In fact, the building suffered heavy damage due to hurricanes Laura and Delta in 2020. It was vacant since then.

The building turned into rubble in just 15 seconds

This building was earlier known as Capital One Tower. For four decades, this building was adding to the beauty of the city. But everything changed after the devastating storm. In the presence of Lake Charles Mayor Nick Hunter, the 22-story building was bombed and turned into a five-story pile of rubble in just 15 seconds.

The owner fought a legal battle

For years, the building's owner and Los Angeles-based real estate firm Hertz Investment Group fought a legal battle with its insurance provider Zurich, The Advocate reports. The owner demanded an estimated $167 million to repair the building. However, after a settlement was reached between the two, the building was demolished by the administration.
