Why did the police arrest Zubeen Garg's cousin, DSP Sandipan? The singer's wife explains.:

News Topical, Digital Desk : Following the death of popular Assamese singer Zubeen Garg in Singapore, the arrest of his cousin, Sandipan Garg, has caused a stir. The Assam CID's Special Investigation Team (SIT) has detained Sandipan, an Assam Police Service (APS) officer posted in Kamrup district.

Zubin's wife, Garima Garg, revealed that Sandipan was traveling abroad for the first time and that she had intended to accompany Zubin to Singapore. However, the trip has now taken a mysterious turn, as Sandipan has been arrested as the fifth accused in the case.

Zubin died in Singapore on September 19th, and Sandipan was with him at the time. Sandipan has been remanded in police custody for seven days as part of the investigation, and the Assam government has suspended him with immediate effect.

What did wife Garima say on the arrest?

Garima Garg explained that Sandipan had expressed a desire to go to Singapore with Zubin, as he had never been abroad before. According to Garima, "When Sandipan offered to go with Zubin, Zubin happily took him along."

Garima also said she was aware of Sandipan's arrest, but refrained from commenting on the investigation. "There may be some clues in Sandipan's statements. The investigation is ongoing, and I cannot comment on that," she said.

SIT chief and Assam Police Special DGP (CID) MP Gupta said, "We arrested Sandipan after questioning him. Since the investigation is ongoing, I cannot reveal anything more than this."

How was the relationship between Zubin and Sandipan?

Garima recalled the close bond between Zubeen and Sandipan. She said Zubeen was proud of his cousin, especially after Sandipan recently joined the Assam Police Service. Prior to this, Sandipan had been involved in modeling and acting. Garima said, "Sandipan had done 3-4 modeling projects with us. Zubeen always encouraged new talent, and Sandipan, being his first cousin, loved him very much."

A 10-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) is working day and night to uncover the truth of this case. Besides Sandipan, four other individuals have been arrested in connection with the case. New clues may emerge during the investigation, potentially deepening the case. Currently, the entire nation of Assam and Zubeen's fans are eagerly awaiting the next steps in this investigation.
