News Topical, Digital Desk : Hindustan Zinc, a Vedanta Group company, released its business update for the second quarter (Q2) of fiscal year 2026 after the stock market closed on Friday. The company said in a statement to the exchange that its mined metal production in the second quarter (Q2) of fiscal year 2026 was 258 kilo tonnes (kt), an increase of 1 per cent year-on-year but a decrease of 3 per cent quarter-on-quarter.

The company stated that saleable metal production was 246 kilotonnes, a decline of 6% year-on-year and 1% quarter-on-quarter. The company stated that refined zinc production during the second quarter was 202 kilotonnes, an increase of 2% year-on-year and remaining stable compared to the previous quarter. Refined lead production was 45 kilotonnes, a decline of 29% year-on-year and 7% quarter-on-quarter. 

Share Performance: On Friday, the company's shares closed at ₹492.30, up 2.27%. Over the past year, the company's shares have declined 5.85%.
