Ayodhya: After having darshan of Ramlala seated in the grand temple, devotees will also be able to circumambulate the Lord. For this, a corridor will be built around the Ram temple. All the temples under construction in the temple compound will be included in this corridor. The length of the 14 feet long corridor will be 790 running meters i.e. about 2591 feet.
The responsibility of its construction has been handed over to Larsen & Toubro, the construction agency of the temple, by the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirtha Kshetra Trust. Ever since the grand temple has taken shape on the birthplace and Lord Shri Ram has been installed in it, his devotees have been continuously arriving from far off places for darshan. Every day around one lakh devotees are visiting, but their desire to circumambulate is still not being fulfilled.
The corridor will be 790 meters long
The reason is that there is no space available for circumambulation around the Ram temple right now, where devotees can circumambulate their idol. The trust has decided to build a corridor around the temple for the convenience of the devotees. All the temples being built in the rampart will be included in this 790 meter long corridor.
Temples of various deities and Saptarishis are currently under construction in the Ram Mandir complex. Some of these will be completed by December this year and some by March next year. Along with these temples, the construction work of the corridor has also been started.
The length of the corridor will be 14 feet
L&T Project Director VK Mehta said that the width of the corridor is 14 feet. At present, the construction of the corridor is going on simultaneously at the places where there is space available. Efforts are being made to complete the corridor along with the completion of the construction of the temples, so that devotees can perform parikrama.
