UP Govt Readies Bonus for 12 Lakh Staff, 3% DA Hike, and Outsourced Pay Boost
Festive celebrations are set to receive a major financial boost for more than 1.2 million state government employees and pensioners across Uttar Pradesh, with the Yogi Adityanath-led administration initiating fast-track preparations to disburse festive bonuses ahead of Dhanteras and Diwali. To ensure that fiscal liquidity reaches state personnel without procedural holdups, staff at the state Finance Department in Lucknow have been mobilized to process documentation across Sundays and official holidays. Under the administrative framework currently being finalized, eligible state workers will receive their festival gratuity credited directly into their bank accounts as an independent disbursement separate from standard monthly salaries, bringing timely economic relief to households ahead of the festival of lights.
Bonus Matrix and 3% DA-DR Expansion: Direct Bank Transfers Before Dhanteras
According to operational parameters drawn up by the Finance Department, eligible non-gazetted employees will receive an ad-hoc bonus ranging between ₹3,400 and ₹7,000, with staff positioned up to Pay Matrix Level-8 eligible for approximately ₹6,908. Parallel to the festive bonus rollout, the state government is preparing to announce a 3 percent hike in Dearness Allowance (DA) for its 1.2 million serving employees, alongside a corresponding 3 percent Dearness Relief (DR) enhancement for more than 6 million pensioners. Administrative timelines indicate that if the formal executive orders are sanctioned prior to October 25, the enhanced DA and DR components will be incorporated directly into the October compensation cycle disbursed in early November, providing combined liquidity just as festive markets peak across the state.
Pay Hikes for 4 Lakh Outsourced Workers and October 31 Medical Claim Deadline
Broadening the scope of festive welfare, the state government is also finalizing measures to deliver increased salaries to approximately four lakh outsourced personnel, with formal notifications slated for release immediately following the ongoing holidays to take effect in November payrolls. In tandem with wage enhancements, the administration has issued binding directives requiring all departments to settle and clear pending medical reimbursement claims submitted by state employees and pensioners up to September 30, setting a strict compliance deadline of October 31. Under this operational guideline, the technical scrutiny of legacy medical bills will continue through offline verification channels, where dossiers will undergo formal review by the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) or Chief Medical Superintendent (CMS) before being routed back to parent departments for immediate electronic clearance and payment disbursement.
