Rural roads in the state have been expanded thanks to the Prime Minister’s far-sighted vision and the hard work of Keshav Maurya, says Kamlesh Paswan

At the three-day 'Vibrant Gorakhpur-2026' conference, Shri Kamlesh Paswan stated that the commitment to provide better road connectivity to rural areas—under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi—is being realized rapidly. The hard work, dedication, and commitment to the public shown by Shri Keshav Prasad Maurya have accelerated the implementation of the 'Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana' (PMGSY) in Uttar Pradesh. Efforts to make rural roads high-quality, durable, advanced, and environmentally friendly have played a significant role in positioning the state as a leader in this sector nationwide.

The objective of the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) is to provide all-weather road connectivity to eligible rural habitations and to upgrade existing rural roads. In Uttar Pradesh, the scheme focuses not only on road construction but also on quality control, regular maintenance, and technical monitoring. Digital systems, such as 'e-Marg', are being utilized to make the monitoring of road maintenance and ongoing projects more effective.

Improved rural roads play a vital role in enabling farmers to transport their produce to markets, facilitating students' access to educational institutions, and ensuring that rural residents can easily reach healthcare services. This also fosters employment, trade, and local economic activity. The appreciation received by the implementing agency at 'Vibrant Gorakhpur-2026' underscores the ongoing efforts to strengthen rural infrastructure in Uttar Pradesh and integrate villages into the mainstream of development.
