Keshav Prasad Maurya planted a tree at Madan Mohan Malaviya Park (Minto Park) and paid tribute to its historical memories
Keshav Prasad Maurya stated that the history of this site is linked to a significant event in 1858, when the then-Governor General, Lord Canning, read out Queen Victoria’s Proclamation. This proclamation marked the end of the East India Company’s rule in India, bringing the administration directly under the British Crown. A commemorative pillar was erected here to mark this historic event. In 1910, the park came to be known as Minto Park.
Shri Maurya remarked that the life of Mahamana Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya serves as an inspiring example of dedication to education, service to the nation, and Indian cultural consciousness. His ideals continue to inspire society toward nation-building even today.
Today, Keshav Prasad Maurya planted a tree at the Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya Park in Prayagraj, conveying a message of environmental conservation and a greener Prayagraj. On this occasion, he viewed the historic commemorative pillar, inscriptions, and various images, reflecting upon the significant historical events and the contributions of the great figures associated with this site.
Deputy Chief Minister Shri Keshav Prasad Maurya noted that the land of Prayagraj embodies the glorious memories of Indian history, culture, national consciousness, and the struggle for independence. Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya Park is not merely a garden; it stands as a witness to a crucial chapter in the nation’s history. It is our collective responsibility to preserve this historic site and acquaint the new generation with its significance.
During his visit, the Deputy Chief Minister interacted with party workers and engaged warmly with local citizens, some of whom took photographs with him. He urged for greater public awareness regarding environmental conservation, the cleanliness of public spaces, and the preservation of historical heritage.
