Following instructions from Keshav Prasad Maurya, B. L. Meena traveled to Kenya for a meeting on food processing exports

In line with the directives of Keshav Prasad Maurya, the innovative ideas presented by Additional Chief Secretary B.L. Meena—specifically the proposal to develop a partnership between the food processing industries of Uttar Pradesh and Kenya—received a positive response. This initiative is expected to strengthen prospects for value addition to agricultural products, the exchange of modern processing techniques, the creation of new investment opportunities, and enhanced access to international markets. During the meeting, the High Commissioner of India encouraged companies from Uttar Pradesh to explore agricultural production in Kenya by leasing land. Discussions were also held regarding the potential for bringing such produce into the Indian market, and the High Commissioner assured the provision of necessary support in this endeavor.

B.L. Meena stated that, under the leadership of Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, the state government is committed to promoting agro-based industries, establishing food processing units, ensuring better returns for farmers' produce, generating employment, and fostering entrepreneurship. Central government schemes, such as the ‘Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sampada Yojana’ and the ‘Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) Scheme,’ provide a robust foundation for these efforts. Furthermore, the state’s ‘Food Processing Policy-2023’ is actively encouraging investment and the establishment of industrial units. This initiative marks a significant step toward realizing the vision of taking local products to the global market. It holds the potential to foster international collaboration, technological innovation, private investment, and new employment opportunities within the agriculture and food processing sector of Uttar Pradesh.
