CM Yogi: Digital Libraries Empowering UP's Rural Youth

Highlighting the transformative modernization of grassroots education across Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath affirmed that geographical isolation from metropolitan centers is no longer an obstacle for village students. Taking to social media platform X, the Chief Minister remarked that high-speed digital connectivity and modern reading spaces have unlocked unprecedented opportunities for rural talent. Drawing a sharp contrast with the pre-2017 educational landscape, where rural aspirants were forced to migrate to urban centers simply to access study materials and competitive exam coaching, CM Yogi stated that localized digital access is turning the ambitions of youth into reality right from their native villages.

The Bahraich Success Model: Blending Traditional Books with High-Tech Computing

As a benchmark for this developmental turnaround, the Chief Minister cited the newly established digital library operating at the Panchayat Secretariat in Khasaha Mohammadpur Gram Panchayat, situated within the Tejwapur block of Bahraich district. He observed that these rural knowledge hubs harmoniously combine physical books with digital computer terminals under a single roof, offering students seamless access to e-books, online test series, and reference libraries. By equipping local panchayat secretariats with modern digital tools, the state administration is ensuring that students from modest backgrounds can prepare for civil services, defence, banking, and academic entrance exams without incurring heavy financial burdens.

Phase 2 Rollout: 11,350 Gram Panchayats Set to Receive Digital Reading Hubs

Accelerating the statewide grassroots mission, Panchayati Raj Minister Om Prakash Rajbhar has convened a high-level review meeting with department officials to launch the second phase of the initiative, which will cover an additional 11,350 Gram Panchayats. The expansion follows significant momentum in the initial phase, where development works across 11,350 village councils have already seen more than 2,000 digital libraries operationalized on the ground. With state-of-the-art digital infrastructure rapidly penetrating deep rural belts, Uttar Pradesh is establishing a robust network of digital study centers aimed at driving educational equity, technological literacy, and youth empowerment.
