News Topical, Digital Desk : The Nayab Singh Saini government in Haryana has taken a major step. The government has released ₹1,700 crore to the Haryana Urban Development Authority and various metropolitan development authorities to strengthen urban development and accelerate infrastructure improvements in the state's major urban areas .

Addressing a press conference held at the Civil Secretariat on Wednesday (December 10), CM Saini said that the Haryana government is committed to providing world-class urban infrastructure to the state's citizens, giving high priority to urban development . Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shyam Singh Rana was also present on the occasion.

Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said that in the budget speech for the financial year 2025-26 , Rs 3,000 crore from the EDC fund was announced to be allocated to the Haryana Urban Development Authority and the development authorities of Gurugram , Faridabad , Sonipat , Panchkula , and Hisar for external development works. He said that by giving effect to the budget announcement, the Town and Country Planning Department has made significant progress towards the effective use of the EDC fund .

He stated that ₹1,500 crore has already been released to various Metropolitan Development Authorities from the EDC Fund for the 2025-26 fiscal year. Additionally, a total of ₹1,700 crore was released today for development work in various urban estates . This includes ₹700 crore to the Haryana Urban Development Authority, ₹700 crore to the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority, ₹170 crore to the Faridabad Metropolitan Development Authority, ₹30 crore to the Panchkula Metropolitan Development Authority, ₹80 crore to the Sonipat Metropolitan Development Authority, and ₹20 crore to the Hisar Metropolitan Development Authority.

Referring to the achievements of the financial year 2024-25, Nayab Singh Saini said that the department released Rs 2188 crore to the Metropolitan Development Authorities of the state for development works in various urban estates .

On this occasion, Revenue and Disaster Management Department and Finance Commissioner Dr. Sumita Mishra , Additional Chief Secretary of Town and Country Planning Department A.K. Singh, Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Arun Kumar Gupta, Additional Chief Secretary of Cooperation Department Vijendra Kumar, Special Secretary of Revenue and Disaster Management Department Prabhjot Singh, Director of Agriculture Department Rajnarayan Kaushik, Director of Town and Country Planning Department Amit Khatri, Deputy Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Yash Pal, Director General of Information, Public Relations, Language and Culture Department Parth Gupta, Additional Director (Administration) Mrs. Varsha Khanwal , Media Secretary to the Chief Minister Praveen Atreya were present.
