News Topical, Digital Desk : In view of the increasing population and water crisis in Greater Noida and Greno West, the Greater Noida Authority is now taking concrete steps towards strengthening the water supply system. The Authority is constructing four new underground reservoirs in Greater Noida and Greno West, so that a permanent solution to the problem of water crisis can be ensured.

Rajesh Kumar, senior manager of the water department of Greater Noida Authority, said that these reservoirs are being built in Techzone-4, Sector-2, Sector-3 and Sector Eta-2. The construction work is costing around Rs 10 crore and all these UGRs will be ready by the end of the year.

Water supply will be strengthened in residential areas
It is worth noting that Techzone-4 has a capacity of 10,000 KLD. This will provide water to 19 major societies and institutions like Himalaya Pride, Cherry County, Fusion Homes, Green Arc, Gaur Saundaryam, JM Florence, Samriddhi, NX One, Nirala Estate, Ace Aspire, Galaxy Vega, Panchtatva. Sector-2: 6,000 KLD capacity. Blocks A to F, residential societies like Eros Sampoornanam and Nirala Greenshire will benefit. Sector-3: 3,000 KLD capacity. Janta flats and Block A, B, C, D of Sector-3 will benefit. Sector Eta-2: A UGR with a capacity of 1,500 KLD is being built, which will strengthen the water supply in the residential areas there.

Instructions to complete the work within the stipulated time
Authority's ACEO Prerna Singh said that the water department has been instructed to complete the construction of all UGRs within the stipulated time frame, so that the citizens of Greater Noida and Greno West can get regular and better water supply. Water will be supplied through these reservoirs from a mixed source of Ganga water and ground water, which will not only increase the availability of water but will also improve its quality. 

Water supply will improve.
This project is being considered a strategic initiative keeping in mind the future water requirements, which will strengthen the foundation of a permanent water system in Greater Noida. Greater Noida Authority ACEO Prerna Singh said that the water department has been instructed to complete the construction of UGR within the stipulated time, so that water supply can be further improved in sectors and societies.
