
News Topical, Digital Desk : Thailand and Cambodia on Sunday indicated they would hold talks to resolve their border dispute after US President Donald Trump's mediation. At least 34 people have been killed and more than 1,68,000 people have been displaced in the four-day fighting.
Trump posted on Truth Social on Saturday that he spoke to the leaders of Thailand and Cambodia and suggested he would not pursue trade deals with either country if hostilities continued. He later said the two sides had agreed to meet to negotiate a ceasefire.

"Just spoke to the Prime Minister of Cambodia about stopping the war with Thailand. I just spoke to the Acting Prime Minister of Thailand and it was a very good conversation. Thailand, like Cambodia, wants an immediate ceasefire and peace," Trump said in a post on his Truth social network.
What did the PM of Cambodia say?
Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet said on Sunday that his country had agreed to an immediate and unconditional ceasefire. He said Trump told him that Thailand had also agreed to halt attacks after Trump spoke with acting Thai Prime Minister Phumtham Vechayachai.
Thailand's Foreign Ministry also agreed
Thailand expressed cautious support. According to the Thai Foreign Ministry, Phumtham thanked Trump and said Thailand agreed in principle to a ceasefire, but stressed the need for sincere intention on Cambodia's part. Phumtham called for early bilateral talks to discuss concrete steps toward a peaceful settlement.
