News Topical, Digital Desk : If you also invest in SIP i.e. Systematic Investment Plan, then this news is important for you. Actually, in April 2025, investment in mutual funds through SIP created a new history. According to the report of Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI), there was an inflow of Rs 26,632 crore in April, which is the highest till date. The biggest thing is that about 8.38 crore investors participated in it. That is, people have now started showing interest in investing money through SIP.

The situation of equity funds is somewhat different

While SIP inflows are making records, equity funds have seen a decline for the sixth consecutive month. Inflows in equity schemes fell to Rs 24,269 crore in April, which is the lowest figure in the last 12 months. Inflows in small-cap schemes fell by 2.3 percent to Rs 3,999 crore. Apart from this, mid-cap schemes saw a decline of 3.6 percent, while large-cap funds saw a slight increase, with an inflow of Rs 2,671 crore. At the same time, investments in sectoral and thematic funds saw a huge jump, which stood at Rs 2,001 crore. This time this jump has not come from any new NFO (New Fund Offer), but from the interest of the investors themselves.

Return of Hybrid Funds

There was a slight outflow from Gold ETF in April, which was 5.82 crores. It is believed that investors booked profits after gold reached an all-time high. At the same time, hybrid funds, especially arbitrage schemes, have seen an inflow of 11,000 crores, which means that these are now becoming 'parking spaces', where people are investing money temporarily and planning for the future.

Investors are now driven by fundamentals

AMFI's data clearly shows that today's Indian investor does not get caught up in the noise of social media or rumours. He is focusing on fundamentals with a long-term view. Even though the net inflow has declined by 3.2 percent in April, equity AUM (Asset Under Management) has grown by 4 percent and the entire industry AUM has grown by 6 percent, now the total AUM has reached a record 69.9 lakh crore.
