News Topical, Digital Desk : Over the past few months, there has been an increase in incidents of leopard attacks on people across the state of Maharashtra. Leopards are being regularly spotted in most urban areas of the state, and the problem has become more serious as they migrate towards cities. Leopards have even attacked and killed people on several occasions.

Meanwhile, a similar incident occurred in Shirala taluka of Sangli, Maharashtra. A leopard attacked a four-year-old boy in Biyur village, resulting in his death. The incident has cast a pall of gloom over the area and spread panic among the people.

The leopard dragged the child for a long distance.

According to reports , a leopard suddenly attacked a child playing in front of a house and dragged him for a considerable distance. The frequent leopard attacks have created an atmosphere of fear among the public , and anger is also being expressed against the forest department .

Following this unfortunate incident , angry people pelted stones at the Forest Department office . In full view of the public , the leopard suddenly attacked the child and dragged him for a considerable distance.  Some bystanders chased the leopard, forcing it to release the child, but the child died in the attack . Meanwhile , the child's body was brought to Shirala Rural Hospital , and the incident has plunged the area into mourning .
