News Topical, Digital Desk : Reliance Industries today took a major step towards launching its enterprise artificial intelligence (AI) venture with Meta Platforms. The company's wholly-owned subsidiary, Reliance Intelligence, on Saturday, October 25, announced the formation of Reliance Enterprise Intelligence Limited (REIL) and an initial investment of Rs 2 crore in the new company.

REIL, incorporated in India and wholly owned by Reliance Intelligence, will operate as a joint venture with Facebook Overseas, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Meta, as per the agreement. The new company will focus on the development, marketing, and distribution of enterprise AI services. The company will take concrete steps towards implementing the collaboration announced earlier this year. The

company informed exchanges that as part of the formation of REIL, Reliance Intelligence subscribed for 2 million equity shares at a price of ₹10 per share, a total investment of ₹2 crore. Earlier this year, both companies had committed a joint investment of approximately ₹855 crore (US$100 million), with Reliance Intelligence holding 70% and Facebook Overseas holding 30%. Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani announced the joint venture at the company's annual general meeting on August 29, 2025. The venture aims to develop self-sufficient AI-based solutions. Mukesh Ambani has described the partnership with Meta as a "game changer" for accelerating digital adoption across the industry. The joint venture will build an enterprise AI Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) using Meta's open-source Llama models, allowing companies to customize, deploy, and manage generative AI applications securely and at scale. The RIL chairman stated that the partnership will benefit every organization in India, whether small and medium businesses (SMBs) or large blue-chip corporations, and will be available at affordable rates. The company also said it will provide pre-configured AI solutions for cross-functional and sector-specific use cases, including sales, IT, customer service, finance, and other areas. This will also help Meta expand its AI initiatives in India.
