News Topical, Digital Desk : Many times such situations arise in our life for which no clear reason can be understood. Sudden interruption in work, lack of money, frequent illness of someone in the family, accidents or problems related to children, all these can be a sign of displeasure of ancestors.

It is said in Hindu scriptures that if the ancestors are angry,  they can be appeased by worshipping them, offering tarpan and pinddaan during Pitru Paksha  . This year Pitru Paksha will be from 07 September to 21 September and this time is considered especially auspicious for removing obstacles in life and getting the blessings of ancestors.

Symptoms of Pitra Dosha-

1. Problems related to children

The most prominent sign of Pitra Dosha  is difficulties related to child happiness or lineage. Many times, despite all efforts, the husband and wife are unable to have children or they have children but the lineage does not continue. According to the scriptures, this means that the souls of the ancestors are not satisfied and due to lack of their blessings, the lineage is not able to continue.

2. Growing Peepal Plant at Home

If a Peepal plant suddenly grows on the roof, courtyard or in pots of the house without being planted, then it is considered inauspicious. This is a sign that the ancestors are unhappy and negative energy is entering the house. Unless this is redressed in a religious manner, it may be difficult to establish peace in the family.

3. Frequent accidents

Small incidents in the house are normal, but frequent accidents, injuries, car accidents or someone getting injured suddenly can be a sign of Pitra Dosha. It tells that the souls of the ancestors are not getting peace and they are passing on their pain to their children.

4. Obstacles in work and career

Not getting success despite hard work, promotion being stopped or sudden loss in business can also be the result of Pitra Dosha. This indicates that the blessings of the ancestors are not showered fully in life.

5. Obstacles in auspicious works

Sudden obstacles and incomplete work during marriage, housewarming, child birth or other auspicious occasions are also symptoms of Pitra Dosha. This is an indication that meditation and offering of tarpan is expected from the ancestors.

Ways to please ancestors (Pitru Paksha upay)

1. Tarpan and Pinddaan

Water offering and Pinddaan are the highest duties during Pitru Paksha. Tarpan is done with sesame seeds, Kusha grass and water and laddus (pindas) made of flour or rice are offered. This ritual gives satisfaction to the ancestors and spreads positive energy in the house.

2. Offering of food and water

Offering a little food and water every day in the name of ancestors attracts their blessings. This also includes the respect and gratitude of children.

3. Respect for the photo of ancestors

Cleaning the pictures in the house and offering flowers or garlands to them pleases the ancestors and brings peace, positive energy and unity in the family.

4. Lighting the lamp

Remembering ancestors by lighting a lamp in the south direction is considered auspicious and beneficial. The light of the lamp reaches the ancestors and gives them peace.

5. Remembrance in worship and havan

By invoking the ancestors by name in religious rituals and havans, the religious task is completed and the effects of Pitradosha are reduced.

6. Charity and virtue

Donating food, clothes or money to the needy pleases the ancestors. It is said in the scriptures – “Daanam Pitrubhyo Moday”, that is, the ancestors are pleased with the donation and bless the house and bring happiness and prosperity to the family.
