You can also observe a fast every Sunday during the month of Paush to receive the blessings of the Sun God. Salt is not consumed during this fast. On this day, you can offer red flowers, red sandalwood paste, roli, rice, and sesame seeds to the Sun God. Offering sesame-rice khichdi to the Sun God is also considered auspicious. This blesses the devotee with happiness and prosperity.
