News Topical, Digital Desk : Preparations are complete in Patna for the 359th Prakash Jayanti of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the tenth Sikh Guru. A grand celebration will be held at Takht Harmandir Sahib in Patna Sahib from December 25th to late night on December 27th. Anticipating the large number of devotees expected, the Patna Traffic Police have implemented a special traffic plan for three days.

A large Prabhat Ferry will be held on December 25th, followed by a Nagar Kirtan from Gaighat to the Gurudwara on December 26th, and the main Prakash Parv celebration on December 27th. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, the Governor, and ministers are expected to attend. Security and traffic arrangements have been tightened in anticipation of the large crowds.

Entry of heavy vehicles banned on Ashoka Rajpath

According to an order issued by the Traffic Superintendent, entry of heavy and cargo vehicles will be completely restricted from midnight of December 24th to midnight of December 28th within a 4-kilometer stretch of Ashoka Rajpath from Gaighat to Didarganj. This decision was taken especially considering the Khajekalan and Marufganj Mandi areas. However, some relief has been provided from 2 AM to 4 AM, after which commercial vehicles will be diverted via the bypass.

Routes changed for autos and e-rickshaws

From 4 am on December 25 to 6 am on December 27, the operation of autos, e-rickshaws, handcarts and small cargo vehicles will remain closed from Gaighat to Purva Darwaja (Marufganj turn).

During this period, auto-rickshaws will operate from Gaighat to Patna Sahib station via Danka Imli, Nawab Road, Sudarshan Path, Tulsi Mandi, and the Agamkuan ROB. From the station, travel via Marufganj crossing to Malsalami will be permitted.

Complete no entry from West Gate to Marufganj

From late night on December 25th until 6 a.m. on December 28th, all vehicular traffic on Ashoka Rajpath will be closed from the West Gate to Marufganj crossing. Public transport will be required to take alternative routes. From Marufganj crossing, public transport will be allowed to travel to Gaighat via Morcha Road, Patna Sahib Station, and Gulzarbagh.

Nagar Kirtan on December 26, bikes also banned

Due to the Nagar Kirtan on December 26th, no vehicles, not even bikes, will be allowed from Gaighat to Didarganj from 4 am until late at night. Parking arrangements have been made for outside pilgrims at the Didarganj Market Committee, Mangal Talab near Chowk, and at Kangan Ghat for those arriving via the JP Setu. In case of emergency, the route to PMCH and NMCH via the JP Setu will remain open.

From December 25th to late night on December 27th, police forces will be deployed in two shifts at Chowk Mod, Gaighat intersection, Bypass Police Station Mod, West Darwaza, Gurudwara main gate, Khajekalan Ghat Mod, Mangal Talab, Market Committee, and Kangan Ghat parking area. Magistrates have been deployed in three shifts at Chowk-Shikarpur ROB, East Darwaza Mod, and Didarganj checkpost.

The traffic administration has appealed to the people to follow the fixed route and not go to restricted areas unnecessarily, so that the devotees and the general public do not face any kind of problem.
