News Topical, Digital Desk : Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, is scheduled to visit Germany during the ongoing winter session of Parliament, a move the BJP has criticized, calling him a "tourist leader."

The ruling party has accused him of neglecting his duties to travel abroad frequently, while the Congress has hit back, citing Prime Minister Narendra Modi's foreign trips.

Rahul Gandhi to visit Berlin during Parliament session

Rahul Gandhi will be in Berlin from December 15 to 20 to attend an event of the Indian Overseas Congress. The current winter session of Parliament ends on December 19.

BJP attacked

BJP spokesperson Shahzad Poonawala said that Rahul Gandhi has once again proved that LoP means "Leader of Tourism" and "Leader of Partying".

He said, "Rahul Gandhi is a non-serious politician. People are in a work mood, he is always in a holiday mood." Poonawala added, "Recently, during the Bihar elections, he was on a jungle safari. So his priorities are clear. I don't know, he is going to Germany for some reason. But maybe he is just going to spew venom against India. This is an India defamation brigade and India defamation tour. So he is once again going abroad for his holidays and to defame India."

Priyanka Gandhi hit back

Priyanka Gandhi, a senior Congress leader and Rahul Gandhi's sister, responded to the BJP's attacks. She said, "(Prime Minister) Modiji spends almost half of his working time outside the country. Then why is he questioning the opposition leader's foreign trip?"

Gaurav Gogoi, Deputy Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, said the BJP and the Prime Minister had no answers to Rahul Gandhi's questions on alleged electoral irregularities. "When the BJP has no answers to Rahul Gandhi's questions, they have no choice but to defame him," he said.
