Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu on Wednesday launched the scheme by giving this amount to more than 2 thousand eligible women in Kullu district. The name of the scheme is Indira Gandhi Pyari Behna Sukh Samman Nidhi Yojana. Addressing the people, he said, "Our government is determined to ensure that all the deprived sections benefit from the state's wealth."

CM Sukhu has launched this scheme by giving benefits to 2,238 eligible women of Banjar Vikas Block of Kullu district. Under this scheme, Sukhu has sent Rs 4,500 to the bank account of each beneficiary for the period from April to June 2025. The total amount distributed among women was Rs 1,00,71,000. On this occasion, the CM said that the state government is committed to provide Rs 1,500 per month to eligible women.

The Chief Minister said that soon the daughters of domestic working women and widows will also be brought under this scheme. Responding to questions of BJP leaders about the Rs 1500 scheme, Sukhu said that the government has curbed corruption and saved government money, which has enabled the government to provide financial assistance in a phased manner. He said that in the first phase, pension is being given to 2238 women of Banjar area and in the coming days, this amount will be given to all eligible women.
He also distributed Rs 5.87 lakh to 37 beneficiaries of Banjar under various schemes, including 'Beti Hai Anmol Yojana', 'Shagun Yojana', 'Chief Minister Kanyadaan Yojana', 'Chief Minister Sukh Shiksha Yojana' and 'Chief Minister Sukh-Ashray Yojana'.
