New Delhi: The bilateral meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Joe Biden is going on. On the first day of Modi's three-day US visit, the two leaders met in Biden's hometown Wilmington (Delaware). Biden welcomed PM Modi at his home. The two leaders hugged and Biden took Modi to his home holding his hand.

Bilateral and global issues are being discussed between the two leaders during the meeting. PM ​​Modi will also hold bilateral meetings with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Japanese PM Fumio Kishida on the sidelines of the Quad summit in Wilmington.

At the Quad summit, US President Joe Biden said that in the first days of my presidency, I reached out to all of you, each of your nations, and proposed that we move the Quad forward and make it even more important. Four years later, our four countries are more strategically united than ever before.

Today we're announcing a series of initiatives to deliver a real positive impact for the Indo-Pacific, including providing our regional partners with new maritime technologies so they can know what's happening in their waters, launching collaboration between coast guards for the first time, and expanding the Quad Fellowship to include students from Southeast Asia. So I want to thank you all again for being here.

At the Quad Summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that our meeting is taking place at a time when the world is surrounded by tensions and conflicts. The Quad summit is expected to launch new initiatives to boost cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region and explore ways to find a peaceful solution to the conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza.

PM will also address the United Nations General Assembly

Apart from America, the Quad includes India, Australia and Japan. During his visit, Modi will also address the 'Summit of the Future' at the United Nations General Assembly in New York. Earlier, a large number of NRIs welcomed Modi at the Philadelphia airport. People dressed in traditional attire raised slogans of Modi-Modi on the arrival of the PM. During this time, many people were holding the Indian tricolor.

The Prime Minister gave autographs to some people and shook hands with others. "The Indian community has made a mark in the US and has made a positive impact in various fields. It is always a pleasure to interact with them," the PM wrote on the post.

These programs will also be included

On Sunday, Modi will address the Indian community in New York at around 9.30 pm Indian time. The Prime Minister's other programs include attending an event of the Indian diaspora in Long Island and participating in a meeting with CEOs of American companies working on cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence, quantum computing and semiconductors.

Before leaving for the US visit, PM Modi said that the Quad has emerged as a major forum of like-minded people focusing on peace and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region. I look forward to meeting my colleagues President Biden, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Fumio Kishida at the Quad Summit.

Modi further said, I also look forward to interacting with the Indian diaspora and leading American businesses, who are key partners and add vitality to the unique partnership between the world's largest and oldest democracies.
