News Topical, Digital Desk : The New Year, 2026, is about to begin. People are filled with excitement and enthusiasm for the New Year. Everyone is eagerly awaiting the New Year. The first day of the New Year coincides with the auspicious Guru Pradosh fast. This day is dedicated to Lord Shiva, the God of Gods. A special puja will be performed for Lord Shiva on this auspicious occasion. Astrologers believe that worshipping Lord Shiva nullifies the influence of inauspicious planets in your horoscope. It also bestows the blessings of Shanidev, the god of justice, and the elusive planets Rahu and Ketu. If you also wish to receive the blessings of Shanidev, the god of justice, then worship Lord Shiva with proper rituals on the first day of the New Year. Also, be sure to follow these steps during your worship.

- On the first day of the New Year, if possible, bathe in the Ganges River, otherwise, bathe in water mixed with the Ganges River. Afterward, offer water to the Sun God. Wear white clothes and perform an anointment to Lord Shiva by mixing black sesame seeds with Ganges water. This ritual pleases Shanidev, the god of justice.
- If you want to relieve mental stress, then on the first day of the New Year, i.e. Guru Pradosh Vrat, during the puja, anoint Lord Shiva with milk. Also, offer white fruits and sweets to Lord Shiva. By doing this, the blessings of the Moon God shower upon the devotee.
- On the first day of the New Year, i.e. on Guru Pradosh Vrat, donate things related to Saturn. Donate black sesame seeds, a black blanket, and leather shoes and slippers. This ritual pleases Lord Shanidev and showers his blessings upon the devotee.
- If you want to overcome financial difficulties, then worship Tulsi on the first day of the New Year. After the worship, circumambulate Tulsi. Also, perform an aarti of Tulsi in the evening. This ritual increases happiness and good fortune.
