After the rape and murder of a female doctor in Kolkata, the issue of women's safety in the country is being discussed. Meanwhile, it has come to light that a hidden camera was found in the girls' washroom in an engineering college in Andhra Pradesh. However, the police say that no camera has been found in the girls' toilet. The students of the engineering college are continuously protesting and saying that they will not go to class until action is taken against the accused.

In this case, a student of the same college has been accused. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has ordered an inquiry into this matter.   • It was revealed that a hidden camera was found in the washroom of the girls' hostel of SR Gudlavalleru Engineering College in Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh. There was a stir among the girl students after finding a hidden camera in the washroom. The girl students protested on Thursday night demanding justice.
  • After tension arose in the college, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu ordered an investigation into the matter. The police arrested a college student named Vijay Shah in this case. Allegedly 300 pornographic videos were found in his laptop. It was suspected that the accused had sold these videos to other students of the college.
  • A girl said that when she went to the washroom, she felt something strange and during this time she found that a camera was installed there to capture the video. The student informed the college administration about this. The students demanded strict action against those responsible for the violation of privacy and subsequent dissemination of the video. 
  • Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu ordered an inquiry and also directed state mining minister K Ravindra, Krishna district collector and superintendent of police to visit the college. The official statement from the police said that no hidden camera was found in the girls' hostel. No evidence was found to support the allegations. The girls have no need to worry about the issue.
  • Police said they also examined the suspects' laptops, mobile phones and other electronic items in the presence of students and college staff. A special team has been formed to investigate the allegations. State Human Resource Development Minister Nara Lokesh also ordered an inquiry into the alleged case. 
  • Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has appealed to the protesting students to share if they have any proof of the presence of cameras in the washrooms.
