The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a nationwide weather alert warning of heavy rainfall, severe thunderstorms, lightning strikes, and gusty winds across multiple regions from August 25 to August 30. Active weather systems are projected to impact northwestern, central, eastern, northeastern, western, and southern states, with strong winds reaching speeds of up to 60 kilometers per hour in isolated areas, causing significant disruptions to normal life and transport.

Meanwhile, eastern Rajasthan witnessed intense downpours leading to market waterlogging in Karauli, with further thunderstorms and lightning forecast in isolated pockets through August 26.

Madhya Pradesh is bracing for widespread rainfall and severe weather between August 25 and 30, with heavy to very heavy downpours expected in western and eastern regions during the early half of the week, accompanied by persistent lightning and thunderstorms. Neighboring Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh are similarly positioned for extensive rainfall and electrical storms through August 30, requiring local administrations to maintain vigilance against potential waterlogging and rural disruptions.

Regional Rainfall Across Eastern And Western States

Monsoon activity is intensifying across eastern and peninsular territories, bringing varied weather patterns:

• West Bengal and Jharkhand: Widespread rainfall accompanied by strong surface winds ranging from 30 to 40 km/h, gusting up to 50 km/h, is expected through August 30.

• Bihar: Heavy to widespread showers are forecast between August 25 and 27, tapering into scattered rainfall through the end of the month alongside gusty winds.

• Maharashtra and Goa: Konkan and Goa will witness heavy spells through August 30, while Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada anticipate active thunderous showers interspersed with scattered rainfall.
