Flowers, proposals, & a dream wedding, Ketan's romantic dance to "Aankhon Mein Teri" for Sia
News Topical, Digital Desk : Proposals, romantic gestures with flowers, hugs, dances, the "Officially Taken" tag, and a much-awaited dream wedding... For months, Siya Goyal's Instagram posts portrayed a perfect love story with her fianc, Ketan Agarwal. But it was all just an illusion, and in reality, it all turned out to be a doomed affair.
Sia and Ketan got engaged in February and planned a lavish wedding in November, complete with private jets and palaces. A month later, Sia shared a photo of a candlelit cake on Instagram and captioned it, "It's been a month since my heart found a home. Cheers to that." She also tagged Ketan.
Instagram is flooded with romantic posts.
Another post in May showed Ketan giving Siya flowers. Siya captioned it, "He took the 'I like you' thing very seriously." The two then hugged each other. Siya also reposted Ketan's Instagram story featuring her, captioning it "That smile" and adding a heart emoji.
On May 19, Sia posted a "birthday countdown" story on her social media, showing the couple dancing and hanging out to a romantic song. A month later, just a day before Sia's birthday, the story took a different turn.
This is how a romantic story turned into a killing story.
Ketan, the young son of a prominent Maharashtra businessman, died after Siya and her boyfriend pushed him into a ravine at Lohagad Fort near Pune. Initially, it was ruled an accident while taking photographs in strong winds. When Siya told the Lonavala rural police that Ketan had slipped and fallen, the police registered a case of accidental death.
How did Sia and Chetan meet
However, police became suspicious because Siya's behavior seemed unconcerned. Investigations revealed that Siya was also in a relationship with Chetan Babulal Chaudhary (22), whom she met at a business meeting last year. Siya owned a bakery, while Chetan ran a dry fruit business.
Hence the murder plot
According to police, Chetan did not like Siya's relationship with Ketan and considered her an obstacle, so the two allegedly conspired to murder her. "Investigation revealed that Siya did not want to marry Ketan and considered him an obstacle in her relationship with Chetan," police said.
Police said Siya had invited Ketan to Lohagarh Fort on the pretext of a trip. Chetan was also reportedly invited there later and was walking about 20 to 30 feet behind them.
CCTV footage showed Chetan wearing a hoodie to conceal his identity as he chased Ketan and Siya through the fort's paths. The two then pushed Ketan from behind into a ditch, killing him.
More than 2,000 phone calls in seven months
The investigation also revealed that Siya and Chetan had exchanged 2,004 phone calls over the past seven months, totaling approximately 238 hours. Their relationship began in November 2025, when Siya and Ketan's families were preparing for their wedding.
Siya and Chetan have been arrested on charges of murder and criminal conspiracy and have been remanded in police custody for seven days.
Bali trip and failed assassination attempt
A few days before the murder, Ketan and Siya were going to Bali for a pre-wedding photoshoot, but when Ketan reached Mumbai airport and found that his passport was missing, they had to change their plans.
Ketan's father claimed, "They were supposed to go from Mumbai to Bali on June 6 for a pre-wedding shoot. When we left home, there were only four people in the car: my daughter, my son, Siya, and Siya's brother Sahil. While in the car, everyone checked their passports and found that all the passports, currency, credit cards, driving licenses, etc. Were kept in a single pouch. That pouch was in the car."
He said that when they stopped at a food mall, Sia said she had forgotten her mobile phone and went back to the car to get it. He added, "When they reached the airport, everyone except Ketan had their passports. Only Ketan's passport was stolen. Because of this, he couldn't go and had to return from the airport."
Later, on June 14, during a visit to Pune's Lohagad Fort, Siya first attempted to kill him, but failed. According to police, she pushed him off the fort, but he managed to grab onto a bush growing on the cliff's edge. To mask her intentions, Siya created a distraction by shouting that she saw a snake and then embraced him.
Siya and her lover then murdered Ketan on June 18. Case files revealed that the two had also prepared a "Plan C" in case the pre-planned crime failed.
