News Topical, Digital Desk : The UP Special Task Force (STF) has arrested four smugglers from a gang involved in smuggling stolen tractors to other states in the Pakbara police station area of ​​Moradabad. Four tractors and two engines were recovered from their possession. The arrested accused are Qasim, Sherpal, Mustaqeem, and Jaane Alam. Three of the arrested accused are from Amroha district, while one is from Sambhal district. 

The Special Task Force (STF) arrested these smugglers about 100 meters east of the Big Pond near Hakimpur Railway Station in the Pakbara police station area of ​​Moradabad district. The Bareilly Field Unit of the Special Task Force (STF) received information that some individuals were attempting to sell tractors and chassis-separated engines stolen from West Bengal in a canter coming from Assam. Acting on this information, the STF team arrested all the accused. 

Important revelations made during police interrogation

During interrogation, Qasim revealed that he purchases old stolen tractors from Assam, Odisha, and West Bengal. He then brings them back and repairs them here. He paints them, changes the chassis number, engine number, and brand plate, and prepares fake documents and sells them at high prices. 

The second accused, Sherpal, stated that he is a canter driver. He transports goods for various companies to the states of Assam, Odisha, West Bengal, Bihar, and Jharkhand. On his return, he loads tractors, engines, tires, and other parts purchased by Qasim.

The owner of this canter is Shamsul Hasan, a resident of Kundarki. He had loaded Kasim's tractor and engine from Kharagpur into the canter from the location Shamsul had provided. He stated that Kasim had called him on November 23, 2025, while he was in West Bengal. 

He said that two tractors and two engines needed to be loaded from Kharagpur. A man named Ali, a resident of Belda, West Bengal, had sent the engines and tractors loaded with them. Qasim had called him here to take delivery of these tractors and engines. When asked about the driver Sherpal's statement, Qasim revealed that he had purchased the two stolen tractors and two engines from a man named Ali. This cargo was loaded in this canter. 

He explained that he would find the right place, unload the tractors, change the chassis number, engine number, and brand plate, prepare fake papers, and sell them for a good price. He would send two engines to Bobby, a resident of Patiala, and the two tractors were to be sold to Ravi and Deepak, both brothers from Muzaffarnagar. 

What did SP City say regarding the action?

Moradabad's SP City, Kunwar Ranvijay Singh, stated that the Special Task Force (STF) has arrested four members of a gang who smuggled stolen tractors from Assam and Bengal, painted them, forged their papers, and then sold them. They were arrested in the Pakbara police station area. Three of them are residents of Amroha Didauli, and Sheeshpal is from Sambhal. A case has been filed and further action is underway, with the suspects being sent to jail. We've previously caught similar gangs; these are members of the same gang.
