JSW Steel Q4: Profit increased by 16 percent, better than expected, dividend announced

The company's consolidated profit has increased by about 16 percent compared to last year, while consolidated income has seen a decline of more than 3 percent on a year-on-year basis. EBITDA has increased by more than 4 percent compared to last year. At the same time, EBITDA margins have also improved. The company's profit has been better than market estimates. At the same time, income has remained close to estimates. Both EBITDA and EBITDA margins have been weaker than estimates.

Along with the results, the company has announced dividend. The board has approved giving a dividend of Rs 2.8 per share to its investors.

How were the results? The company has informed that the consolidated profit (Profit Attributable to Owners) has increased from Rs 1,299 crore to Rs 1,503 crore as compared to last year and there has been an increase of 15.7 percent in it. The market has estimated a profit of Rs 1,470 crore. Consolidated income has come down from Rs 46269 crore to Rs 44819 crore as compared to last year. There has been a decline of 3.1 percent in it as compared to last year. The market had estimated an income of Rs 44,975 crore. At the same time, EBITDA has increased from Rs 6,124 crore to Rs 6,378 crore. There has been an increase of 4.1 percent in it as compared to last year. The market had estimated an EBITDA of Rs 6,550 crore. During this period, EBITDA margin has increased from 13.24 percent to 14.2 percent. The market had estimated a margin of 14.56 percent. 

How was the performance of the stock? The results have come after the market closed, so the effect of the results will be seen on the stock in the next session . In Friday's trading, the stock closed 0.23 percent higher at 1007.8. The stock is currently close to its highest level of the year. In March this year, the stock had recorded the highest level of the year at 1074.15.
