Initially, when the Directorate of Higher Education sought vacancy details from colleges, preliminary estimates hovered around 1,150 seats. However, following rigorous scrutiny and updated college requisitions, the total count nearly doubled to an impressive 2,107 vacant posts. Signaling readiness on the testing front, the Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission has already uploaded the detailed syllabi for 44 subjects on its official portal, indicating that core administrative groundwork is fully complete.
Five-Member Committee Formed Under Strict Deadlines
To prevent potential litigation or disputes regarding degree eligibility—a common issue in public sector recruitments—the Higher Education Section of the state government officially issued an order establishing a five-member committee. Special Secretary Badri Nath Singh has been appointed as the chairman of the committee.
The panel also includes Joint Secretary of the Higher Education Department Shakeel Ahmed Siddiqui, an officer nominated by the Secretary of the Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission, an official nominated by the Vice Chancellor of Lucknow University, and an officer nominated by the Director of Higher Education serving as the Member Secretary. Operating under strict time constraints, the committee has been mandated to submit its comprehensive report and clear recommendations directly to the Principal Secretary of Higher Education within 15 working days.

This pre-recruitment verification exercise aligns with a longstanding directive issued by the Department of Personnel on October 7, 2021. The guideline mandates that whenever recruitment rules include provisions for "equivalent qualifications," such equivalents must be precisely determined and officially defined before advertising vacancies or forwarding requisitions to selection commissions.
By resolving these equivalence ambiguities beforehand, the administration aims to protect the recruitment timeline from judicial interventions and candidate appeals.
