News Topical, Digital Desk : Security agencies foiled a major cross-border drug smuggling plot at the international border in Jammu on Saturday (February 14, 2026). According to officials, more than four kilograms of heroin, worth over ₹20 crore, was recovered in the operation. The consignment was dropped into Indian territory from across the border via drones.
Secret information was received about sending narcotics
Officials said they received intelligence that narcotics were being sent from Pakistan via drones. Upon receiving the information, the Border Security Force (BSF) and local police immediately launched a joint operation. The operation took place in a border village in the R.S. Pura sector of Jammu. During the search, security forces recovered two packets containing heroin, weighing more than four kilograms. Following the seizure, a thorough search operation was launched in the entire area.
Police have registered a case and launched an investigation. Officials say efforts are underway to identify and arrest those involved in this cross-border smuggling network. Security agencies are also investigating any local involvement.
Two people were arrested a day earlier for heroin smuggling.
This action comes just a day after two men were arrested in the border area of Kathua district for smuggling heroin using drones. Jatin, a resident of Pathankot, Punjab, and Danish Dogra, alias Sajan, a resident of Kathua, were arrested in connection with the seizure of 150 grams of heroin near the Nagri area. Investigations revealed that the two accused were in contact with a smuggler based in Pakistan through VoIP calls. Security agencies are working to unravel the entire network.
