News Topical, Digital Desk : Union Minister Kiren Rijiju on Thursday gave his statement on the process of choosing the successor of the Dalai Lama. Now China has reacted to this. China has said that India should be careful in making statements on issues related to Tibet, so that it does not affect bilateral relations.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Mao Ning said in a media briefing that India should be aware of the 14th Dalai Lama's anti-China and separatist behavior and should honor its commitments on issues related to Xizang (Tibet). He said that India should be cautious in its words and actions.

China wants to exercise its will in choosing its successor

Let us tell you that China calls Tibet as Xizang. The 14th Dalai Lama has given the right to choose his successor to the Gaden Phodrang Trust established by his office in 2015. But China wants to have its interference in this matter and says that the process of choosing the successor should be completed under the policies of the Chinese government.

Kiren Rijiju's statement is the first reaction from India on this issue. He had said that the decision on the successor of the Dalai Lama will be taken by the established institution of Tibetan Buddhists and not by anyone else. China has said that India should stop interfering in China's internal affairs on issues related to Xinjiang, so that it does not affect the improvement and development of China-India relations.

Two ministers of the central government, Kiren Rijiju and Rajiv Ranjan Singh, are representing the Indian government at the Dalai Lama's 90th birthday celebrations in Dharamshala on July 6. But the minister has said that the birthday celebration is a religious ceremony and has nothing to do with politics.
