"UP's Economy Tripled, Mafia in Ruins": CM Yogi Adityanath Launches PRD Cashless Medical Scheme in Gorakhpur

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched a scathing critique of past political administrations while championing the sweeping developmental transformation of the state. Speaking at the official inauguration of the "PRD Cashless Medical Scheme" held at the Baba Gambhirnath Auditorium in Gorakhpur, the Chief Minister emphasized that effective, transparent governance guarantees inclusive prosperity, infrastructure growth, and absolute public safety.

Past Misrule, Riots, and the "Bimaru State" Legacy

Directly targeting opposition parties without naming them, CM Yogi asserted that previous regimes operated entirely without a credible development agenda, leaving the state at the mercy of chronic unrest. He recalled an era marked by frequent riots, rampant looting, total administrative chaos, and compromised safety for women and merchants.

The Chief Minister noted that past governments systematically turned a resource-rich region into a struggling, underdeveloped territory while public funds were siphoned off and stashed away in foreign accounts. Taking a sharp jab at these corrupt practices, CM Yogi remarked that during recent geopolitical conflicts and missile strikes abroad, certain opposition leaders panicked because their hidden wealth—amassed through state looting—was directly endangered.

Economic Surge: UP’s Economy Triples in Nine Years

Contrasting past stagnation with current milestones, the Chief Minister highlighted that under the BJP administration, Uttar Pradesh has successfully shed its outdated tag and emerged as a primary growth engine for the Indian economy.

Key economic indicators underscore this massive turnaround:

  • Tripled Economic Output: The state's overall economy has expanded threefold over the past nine years, reflecting unprecedented industrial and agricultural momentum.

  • Infrastructure Upgrades: Modern public facilities have replaced neglected infrastructure, with multi-storey administrative buildings, improved highway networks, and advanced police and security barracks established across districts.

  • Elimination of Crime and Mafia: CM Yogi declared that the era of criminal patronage is over, noting that mafias and gangsters have been driven to the brink of extinction, making Uttar Pradesh exceptionally safe for citizens, investors, and businesses alike.

Empowering Security Personnel With the PRD Cashless Medical Scheme

Amidst broader governance updates, the Gorakhpur convention served as the launchpad for comprehensive welfare measures dedicated to Provincial Rakshak Dal (PRD) personnel. The newly introduced PRD Cashless Medical Scheme guarantees free annual medical treatment of up to ₹5 lakh for jawans and their dependent family members across empanelled hospitals, complemented by a substantial daily duty allowance increase to ₹600 per day.

The Chief Minister reaffirmed that true governance ensures that those who protect the state are honored, supported, and provided with elite healthcare and financial security.
