Bundelkhand’s New Dawn: CM Yogi Gifts ₹710 Crore Development Projects to Banda

In a major push for regional growth, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited Banda on Thursday, unveiling a massive development package worth ₹710 crore. During his visit, the CM inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for 229 vital infrastructure projects, signaling a determined shift in the state's focus toward transforming the historically neglected Bundelkhand region into a "paradise on earth."

From Bandits to Development: A Decisive Shift

Addressing a massive public gathering, CM Yogi drew a stark contrast between the current "double-engine" government’s progress and the policies of previous regimes. He alleged that the Samajwadi Party and Congress governments historically neglected Bundelkhand, favoring a culture of lawlessness where "bandits were given patronage, and youth were handed guns instead of employment." Asserting that development funds are now redirected from narrow interests like cemetery boundary walls toward the beautification of temples and holistic public welfare, the CM stated, "Today, Bundelkhand has entered a new era of development, finally liberated from the terror of dacoits."

Law, Order, and Economic Connectivity

CM Yogi highlighted that Bundelkhand’s transformation is built on two pillars: enhanced connectivity and stringent law and order. Comparing the region's state nine years ago—plagued by migration, land mafias, and forest bandits—to today’s climate of security, he emphasized that his administration has facilitated nine lakh government jobs for the state's youth. The Chief Minister issued a stern warning to criminals: "My government disapproves of riots and hooliganism. Those who compromise the safety of daughters and business people will face the full force of the law." He underscored that before 2017, farmers feared their own fields, but today, law-abiding citizens live without the shadow of mining or land mafias.

Spiritual Journey in the Holy City of Chitrakoot

Following his administrative engagements in Banda, the Chief Minister dedicated his second day to the spiritual heart of the region, Chitrakoot. Arriving at the shrine of Lord Kamadnath, CM Yogi participated in traditional Vedic rituals and performed a barefoot Kamadgiri Parikrama, accompanied by local saints and sages. His visit included darshan at the Shri Ram Janaki temple and the performance of the Kamadgiri Maha Aarti, highlighting the government’s efforts to promote religious tourism alongside infrastructure development in the Bundelkhand corridor.
