The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) has officially released a recruitment notification for 1,251 Livestock Extension Officer positions within the Uttar Pradesh Animal Husbandry Department. Key Dates And Application Schedule

Candidates must complete their registrations in accordance with the schedule set by the Commission. The online application portal opens on September 9, 2026, and the last date to submit the application along with the registration fee is September 29, 2026. Applicants will also be provided a window to make necessary corrections or amendments to their submitted application forms until October 6, 2026. To avoid server lag during the final days, candidates are advised to complete their submissions early.

Educational Qualifications And PET Requirements

Applicants must possess a valid scorecard from the UPSSSC Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET), as candidate shortlisting for the main exam will depend directly on PET scores. On the academic front, candidates must have completed Class 12 (Intermediate) with either Biology or Agricultural Science as a subject. Alternatively, holding a Diploma in Animal Husbandry and Dairying or an equivalent degree from a recognized institution fulfills the qualification criteria.

Age Limit Criteria And Category Relaxations

The minimum age requirement to apply for the Livestock Extension Officer post is 18 years, while the upper age limit is set at 40 years. Age relaxations in the upper limit will be granted to reserved category applicants, including Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC), and Persons with Disabilities (PwD), as per Uttar Pradesh state government rules.

Nominal Application Fee Details

The Commission has established a uniform application fee structure across all categories. Applicants from General, OBC, EWS, SC, and ST categories are required to pay an application processing fee of ₹25. The fee payment must be completed through online digital payment modes during the registration process.

Two-Stage Selection Process

Selection for the 1,251 vacancies will involve a two-stage evaluation process. Candidates will first be shortlisted for the Main Written Examination based on their UPSSSC PET scores. Shortlisted applicants will then sit for the subject-specific written exam, followed by mandatory document verification before the final merit list is issued.
