Railway ICF Apprentice Recruitment 2026: Direct Entry For 1,010 Posts Without Written Exam Or Interview
Indian Railways’ Integral Coach Factory (ICF), Chennai, has officially opened applications for 1,010 Act Apprentice positions across multiple technical trades. This recruitment drive presents a valuable career development path for 10th-pass candidates and ITI diploma holders seeking practical industrial training inside premier railway manufacturing facilities. Direct Merit-Based Selection Method
A key feature of this recruitment drive is that candidates will not be subjected to a written examination or personal interview. Shortlisting will be conducted strictly through a merit list prepared on the basis of marks obtained in Class 10th and relevant ITI qualification examinations, ensuring a direct and transparent candidate evaluation process.
Trades Distribution And Eligibility Standards
The vacancy drive caters to both Fresher and Ex-ITI applicants across key engineering trades, including Electrician, Fitter, Welder, Machinist, Carpenter, Painter, and PASAA. For the Fresher category, applicants must have passed Class 10 (Matriculation) with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks, with Science and Mathematics as mandatory subjects. For the ITI category, candidates must have passed Class 10 with 50% marks alongside a National Trade Certificate (NTC) issued by NCVT or SCVT in the respective trade.
Age Limit Guidelines And Relaxations
Applicants must be at least 15 years old and not exceed 24 years of age as of the cut-off date on September 7, 2026. Reserved category candidates will receive relaxation in the upper age limit as per central government norms, offering a 5-year relaxation for SC/ST candidates, 3 years for OBC applicants, and up to 10 years for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD).
Monthly Stipend Structure During Training
Selected apprentices will receive monthly financial allowances according to standard railway rules. Freshers entering with a Class 10 qualification will receive a stipend of ₹6,000 per month during their first year, while those joining with a Class 12 qualification will receive ₹7,000 per month. Candidates recruited under the ITI category will also draw a monthly stipend of ₹7,000.
