News Topical, Digital Desk : Preparations for the 2027 Kumbh Mela in Haridwar are now underway. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami visited the Kumbh Mela Control Building and reviewed major infrastructure projects related to the fair, laying the foundation stone for 34 important development works.
These works, costing approximately ₹250 crore, include the construction of ghats, expansion of road and transportation systems, strengthening drinking water facilities, and developing permanent facilities for pilgrims. The government claims that these projects will not be limited to the Kumbh alone but will also form the foundation for the long-term development of Haridwar city. Cabinet ministers and administrative officials were also present at the event, and the progress of preparations was discussed in detail.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami stated clearly that all permanent and temporary works related to the Kumbh will be completed within the stipulated timeframe and that he himself is monitoring them. He said that the goal is not just to organize the event but to deliver a grand and divine Kumbh where devotees return with the blessings of Mother Ganga and the best arrangements.
The government is continuously holding review meetings with the officials regarding the Kumbh Mela and by establishing communication with the Akharas and the saint community, the traditional arrangements are also being finalized, so that the Kumbh Mela can be organized with full dignity and in a systematic manner.
