News Topical, Digital Desk : Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the 2026-27 Budget in Parliament on Sunday (February 1, 2026). This budget includes several important announcements aimed at youth. The budget announced the opening of content creator labs in 15,000 schools and 500 colleges. Union Minister of State Jayant Chaudhary expressed his happiness over this announcement, calling it a revolutionary budget for the education and skills ecosystem.

RLD leader and Union Minister Jayant Chaudhary wrote on X about the budget, "AVGC Content Creator Labs in 15,000 schools and 500 colleges will open doors to new creative careers. Support for 5 university townships and planned educational zones will strengthen regional education centers. And a girls' hostel in each district will ensure access and dignity for all learners. Reducing the Total Cost of Education Tax (TCS) from 5% to 2% will ease the financial burden on students and families."

Nirmala Sitharaman sets a record

Union Finance Minister Sitharaman has set a new record by presenting the budget for the ninth consecutive time. In Budget 2026, the Finance Minister announced several important schemes. Prices on alcohol and cigarettes have been increased, while items such as clothing, foreign travel, 17 cancer medications, microwave ovens, shoes, aircraft manufacturing equipment, EV batteries, diabetes medications, leather and textile exports, and biogas-mixed CNG will all become cheaper.  

Mixed reactions from leaders

Most ruling party leaders and ministers have described the budget as providing relief to the common man and moving towards the goal of a developed India. However, the opposition has expressed disappointment. Even before the budget was released, Akhilesh Yadav had sarcastically revealed the opposition's intentions. Poet Kumar Vishwas had demanded that the budget provide relief to the common man. Currently, the flood of reactions to the budget is still ongoing.
